With respect to the lottery segment, GTECH’s operations include the design, sale and management of online and instant lottery systems. Regarding the online lottery segment business, it comprises the development of a central computer system, gaming terminals, technologies that connect the central equipment to the terminals, and the licensed gaming software. GTECH also installs systems at lottery-enabled point-of-sale terminals and manages their operations under separate contracts. Concerning the instant lottery segment, GTECH prints tickets through its subsidiary GTECH Printing Corporation, which has an annual production capacity of over 11 billion tickets, representing 20% of the worldwide production capacity of instant lottery tickets.

GTECH operates in over 50 countries worldwide in relation to high-security processing systems for online lotteries, develops new lottery systems, grants licenses to regulatory authorities in various jurisdictions for new brands of games and installs new equipment for the distribution of lottery tickets. GTECH acquires its orders through awards of tenders issued by public authorities, manages and provides 25 of the 44 qualified lottery authorities in the United States, and 53 non-U.S. regulatory board lotteries.
