Italian State Council ruling on Gratta & Vinci.

ROME (ITALY) and PROVIDENCE, RI (US) - 10 March 2010 – Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that the State Council has accepted the appeal on the Gratta & Vinci court case submitted by AAMS, the Italian Gaming regulatory body, and by Consorzio Lotterie Nazionali, which is 63% owned by Lottomatica Group.

The State Council also accepted a portion of the appeal submitted by Sisal and ruled that art. 21, paragraph 5 of the law 102/2009 regulating the tender is not applicable, as well as the clauses of the tender process reflecting such article. Paragraph 5 of the said law is related to the interim period whereby Consorzio Lotterie Nazionali would continue to manage the existing instant lotteries through 31 January 2012.

The State Council’s formal explanation relating to its resolution is not yet available to the public. Lottomatica Group will review the formal explanation and resolutions that may be taken by AAMS as they become available.
