Lottomatica Group subsidiary GTECH Corporation announces continued operational presence in the Netherlands
PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (U.S.) – January 20, 2010 – GTECH Corporation, a Lottomatica Group S.p.A. subsidiary, has been informed that GTECH’s contract to provide central system support and related services to Dutch lottery operator, De Lotto, will continue until July 1, 2010, at the earliest. GTECH has been providing support to De Lotto during its ongoing conversion to a system provided by another vendor that will be shared with Nederlandse Staatsloterij.
At the time of the award of the new central system contract, the lotteries had expected to launch joint operations in the July to September 2009 timeframe. Subsequently, GTECH had been advised by the lotteries of their need for extended support for an indeterminate period which the Company now understands, and is being negotiated with De Lotto, to be until July 1, 2010.
